TRADING PAIN FOR PEACE
This is the first book written by Dr. Gardner in 2008. In it he lays out the basic principles of Set Free Prayer Ministry. The book is divided into two sections. The first half of the book talks about the "Fact-based emotions of grief, anger, sadness, and disappointment, and how to overcome them through two steps. The second half of the book describes how to overcome "Belief-based" emotions such as fear, shame, aloneness, helplessness, hopelessness, and hurt.

stop living with grief
This book was written in 2015 because Dr. Gardner found that so many people wanted a book on grief and did not want to read about all the other emotions. The entire book focuses on how to overcome grief of all types, including from divorces, from murders, suicides, traumas, and relationship break-ups. The book does cover the other emotions as well when they are connected to the person's feelings of grief.

set free indeed
Dr. Gardner wrote this book in 2018 so that individuals who are unable to attend his Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced training seminars could acquire the same information from reading one book. He discusses a wide range of topics, including grief, anger, shame, addiction, depression, fears, psychiatric medications, and how to make a prayer plan. He refers to this book as "The Manual."

stopping the anger and violence epidemic
Dr. Gardner wrote this book to address the issue of how to stop the anger and violence epidemic in our country through prayer. In this book, he argues that anger and grief both contribute heavily to violence, especially mass violence, and that psychiatric medications also play an important role in the escalation of violence in our society. He recommends that churches regularly teach the importance of forgiveness and never letting the sun go down on our anger. This book offers a faith-based, effective form of anger management.

before the sun goes down
In 2021, Dr. Gardner decided to rewrite "Stopping the Anger and Violence Epidemic" and to simplify for young people. It was written as a program to be used in high school to teach teenagers how to release their anger and grief so that it does not lead them to commit acts of violence. The illustrations used in the book are almost entirely taken from the true stories of young people and the vocabulary was also simplified for easier comprehension.
